1. Palace x Umbro Spot

Umbro’s latest collection has just been released, an exciting collaboration with London tearaway skate crew Palace, for which Ewen directed and shot a short video, produced by Danny Emmerson and the Somesuch gang, styled by Stephen Mann.

The location was a run down pub in East London, the vibe was distinctly 90s and the story was a reconstruction of a moment firmly etched in the memory of all football fans – the Italia 90 England v Germany game. With some skating, lots of drinking and some 90s garage thrown in. Sounds too good to be true? We know.

  2. BOOKS ON TOUR

Since the launch of Three’s a Crowd Vol.2 (Ewen’s latest self-published title) in January, the book has already seen a bit of mileage with the launch and show at KK Outlet, Hoxton Sq, a visit in February to Repositioned, Glasgow and now to be shown as part of the PHOTO BOOK SHOW B which opens this evening in east London and runs all weekend.

Definitely worth a look, but that’s not all!

On Sunday Ewen will be speaking as part of a panel discussion chaired by Diane Smyth, deputy editor at the BJP, with graphic designer and creator of Oodee publishing house Damien PoulainHarry Hardie from HERE, and Self Publish Be Happy’s Bruno Ceschel, all as part of the Photo Book Show.

If that’s not enough to entice you then I don’t know what will. See you there.

OPENING: Friday March 7, 7pm // SHOW: Saturday March 8 & Sunday March 9, 12-6pm // PANEL DISCUSSION: Sunday March 9, 1pm // WHERE: Ground Floor Left, Enterprise House, Tudor Grove, London EQ 7QL // WHY: why not  //  ADMISSION: free!

  4. ‘TEENAGERS’ AT REPOSITIONED OPENS THIS WEEKEND!

We are very pleased to announce the all new Repositioned Gallery in Glasgow’s west end will be  playing host to Ewen and his TEENAGERS work for a solo show opening this Saturday 18 February.

The show will feature a selection of images from the TEENAGERS project, with some works that have previously toured at The Barbican, London, Tokyo City Opera House and Hereford Photo Festival ‘Exposure’ in 2001, Rencontres D’Arles in 2004 and more recently at the Musee d’Elysee in Lausanne Switzerland in 2008, and a number of never-before seen images from his varying forays into the world of teenagers across Britain in the late 90s and early 2000s.

    From the horse’s mouth:

“Since the inception of Teenagers and the emergence of youth culture in Britain we have been becoming older sooner and staying younger longer. If I can observe any success in these pictures it is based on a common agenda an awareness that we have all been here and can possibly return to these roles again and again. They are unashamedly human moments.”

In addition to the opening party there will also be a book signing on Saturday 18, and a panel discussion on Sunday 19 hosted by Brian Sweeney (curator and director at Repositioned) with Andy Stark (head of Photography at Glasgow School of Art), Danny Hearn & Barry Mitchell (Perspectives online photography magazine), Ross Gilmore (Picture editor at Glasgow Herald Magazine), Michael Thomas Jones (Director and Curator at Repositioned Gallery) and of course Ewen!

WHERE: Repositioned, 1203 Argyle Street, Glasgow, G3 8TQ // OPENS: Saturday 18 February from 6pm // EVENTS: Book signing – Saturday 18 February from 6pm. Panel Discussion – Sunday 19 February, 1pm, entry £5 (for as many biscuits & cuppas you can handle!) @ Repositioned // INFO: here
